Finally.
Chapter 9 now up. Can I call this day back and have it reissued?
RL is such a pain sometimes
The next chapter of Palmer’s Kiss is going to be a bit late today, at least for previous values of “on time”. Work pressures, etc. I’ll get it up before the day’s out and hopefully sooner than that.

Because a crossover would have been too silly
Project 42 is Iron Man, rated R, and knee-deep in fluff, so consider yourself warned. Cincoflex cheered me on and made the banner!

Book of the Moment
I just finished re-reading N. Lee Wood’s Looking for the Mahdi, which is a unique and fascinating near-future novel–now slightly out of date politically, as it was published in 1996, but that doesn’t matter. It’s complex, uncomfortable, and a great read, and while I do not recommend the author’s Faraday’s Orphans (ew ew EW) this one is a keeper. I always finish it and think “Why not?“
*laughter*
I just woke up from a nap wherein I was dreaming, and to save the parentheses, I’m going to footnote this Robin McKinley-style.
Among many other things, I dreamed that my father was a government official* important enough to have Secret Service protection^. My mother and brother and I were out in the rain with a crowd of them† all holding umbrellas over us‡. My brother and I were amused because my father had done some cute joke for my mother’s birthday§☛, and we took great enjoyment in telling a naive Secret Service agent☂ about how Madeleine Albright’s husband☎ wrote suggestive messages on her birthday cakes✈.
You have no idea how much I wish the last part were real.
* He was.
^ He wasn’t.
† Does anybody besides the President get a crowd for their whole family?
‡ You can’t actually do that with umbrellas.
§ Which he has.
☛ It’s a long story involving balloons, a clown, and people dressed up as gorillas. It was hilarious.
☂ No such thing!
☎ They’re divorced.
✈ Sheet cakes, apparently.

Gah.
Palmer’s Kiss has now passed the 60,000-word mark. And I’m not finished. *grumble* What is it with my muse and this fandom? Sheesh.
